Privacy & Access to Information

Any personal information you provide to Council will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act (PPIPA) 1998 and will be used only for the purpose for which it was collected. Council is also required to manage any requests for access to information held by it in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA Act) 2009, and certain information you provide to Council may become publicly available.

Payment Security

To ensure that you are trading in a secure environment, Hornsby Shire Council has contracted the services of Advam. Advam is the leading provider of integrated global card services for private enterprise and government agencies in Australia and New Zealand.. Financial records are hosted within the Advam system. When you begin to enter payment details, you will notice that you will be taken to a secure site which uses 1024 bit tunnelling encryption to protect your information during transmission. Credit Card Authorisations are transmitted to and from the banking network in seconds. You are informed of the success or failure of your transaction, and Hornsby Shire Council is updated with the outcome of the authorisation request and the corresponding payment reference. If there is a hardware or software failure at any stage during the transaction, the transaction is cancelled and no money is debited from your account.

You agree that all of the information you have provided to Hornsby Shire Council in relation to the transaction is complete and correct, including, without limitation, information provided by you in relation to your credit card details and its validity dates, and is not listed on any warning bulletin held by any bank or credit card provider. You agree that you will comply with any requirement of your credit card provider which may relate to the use of this online service, including without limitation, not exceeding any transaction limit on your credit card used for the transaction.
